Cleburne County sheriff arrests man after report of multiple dogs shot, killed

A Greers Ferry man was arrested for animal cruelty after an investigation found he may have shot and killed multiple dogs.

CLEBURNE COUNTY, Ark. — The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office arrested 62-year-old John Hunt Thursday following an investigation into animal cruelty.

Authorities said they were notified of possible animal cruelty near Greers Ferry, and found that several dogs had been shot, some of which had died.

After the investigation, sheriffs secured a warrant and arrested Hunt on five counts of animal cruelty. He is currently in the Cleburne County Jail.
