LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — This year, Filmland in Little Rock may be the most exciting yet, with plenty of special guests, exciting panels, and of course, great stories.
Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo will attend the Southern Storytellers Panel, where he will be honored with a special award on Sunday, August 18. He'll then join Arkansas Cinema Society co-founder Jeff Nichols, co-writer Clint Bentley, and producer Monique Walton for a Q+A after Sing Sing.
The film weaves a story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art. Sing Sing follows the story of a man imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, but finds purpose in a theatre group among other incarcerated men.
On Wednesday, August 14, Filmland will have a bonus night and special Filmland: Arkansas Showcase.
Arkansas native Hart Denton, known for his work on Riverdale, along with its star, Dylan Sprouse (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody), will show Denton's latest film, The Duel. Hart and Sprouse will take part in a special Q+A session after the show.
The story follows Woody, who challenges his best friend to a duel after discovering he has been sleeping with his girlfriend, taking their friend group across the border to a mysterious and stunning estate.
On Saturday, August 17, filmmaker Craig Brewer will attend a sneak peek of the first episode of Peacock's upcoming limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist and take part in the Southern Storytellers Panel the following day.
Writer and director Kyle Hausmann-Stokes will also screen his feature debut, My Dead Friend Zoe, which won the Audience Award at SXSW and features a star-studded cast with Ed Harris and Morgan Freeman.
After the screening, Jeff Nichols will host a Q+A with Kyle Hausmann-Stokes.
Tickets for members and sponsors are on sale now, while the sale for the general public begins Saturday, August 10 at 11:00 am.
