CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- A man suspected in the death of a woman at a Conway motel over the weekend is now facing an upgraded murder charge.
According to LaTresha Woodruff with Conway police, Scotty Gardner's charge has been upgraded to capital murder in the death of Susan Stubbs.
Stubbs was found dead in a room at the Days Inn on Oak Street. Woodruff said a clerk told police Gardner booked the room and made arrangements to stay another night, but didn't show up; that's when Stubb's body was found.
Gardner remains in jail, pending a formal charge of capital murder.
