CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - They are staples in big cities across the country, from San Francisco to New York.

Food trucks are unique, convenient lunch options, and one town hopes to bring the love of street food permanently to the area.

Nathan Sullinger, owner of Nate's Hot Dog Haven, hopes to make the temporary restaurants a fixture in the area.

"We tried some things downtown recently the last few years and they were ok but we've been looking for a more permanent location for a while now," said Sullinger.

A vacant parking lot downtown will soon become the Conway Food Truck Park every Tuesday through Saturday.

"I've seen this place in passing and finally decided to stop in and they really liked our idea," said Sullinger.

Customers who stop by the food truck park can expect a wide variety of a menu, everything from barbeque to hotdogs and hamburgers to the classic Reuben.

But what do staff at nearby brick-and-mortar restaurants think?

"Maybe it will get us more people here!," said waitress at Faby's restaurant, Isela Paeilla.

Just down the street from the future park sits Faby's restaurant.

"Mostly here (is) like the same people, they love our food, they come back all the time so I don't think it will be any competition," said Paeilla.

Competition or not, the hope is to keep everyone coming back for another bite.

"I think it's going to be really good. I mean I'm going to try it out!" said Paeilla.

Food Truck Fools Day kicks off April 1 at 11 a.m. - officially launching the food truck park.
