LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The City of Little Rock has opened a few cooling center locations after heat advisory warnings were issued for the Natural State into the weekend.
The following locations are open on Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17 for any residents who need a safe space to avoid the heat:
- Dunbar Community Center, 1001 W. 16th St.
- Southwest Community Center, 6401 Baseline Road
- Stephens Community Center, 3720 W. 18th St.
- West Central Community Center, 8616 Colonel Glenn Road
On Sunday, August 18, the city will open another cooling center at East Little Rock Community Center at 2500 E. Sixth St. from noon to 6 p.m.
The city's community centers will remain open for their regularly scheduled hours until 6 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
