NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The gateway to North Little Rock’s Argenta community has a new restaurant that's been all the rave. Located in the space previously home to Creegan’s Irish Pub, Draft + Table is an upscale, yet inviting restaurant that offers a unique menu that’d be tough to find anywhere else.
“We wanted people to have an elevated dining experience, but still feel comfortable and welcome,” explained Executive Chef Kevin Dorsoki.
Dorsoki treasures being a part of such a restaurant in Argenta— it's an area he's familiar with since the majority of his culinary career was spent a few doors down at Capeo, a fine-dining Italian restaurant.
“I love Argenta,” said Dorsoki with a big smile.
So what kind of food can you expect at Draft + Table? Broadly speaking, they serve American fare with an emphasis on Arkansas delicacies.
Dorsoki crafted a menu that has meaning to himself and his childhood.
“Growing up as a kid we ate rabbit a lot, but you don’t find that on many restaurant menus and I wanted to share that,” he described. “The menu is a collection of my life experiences, things that are special to me, things that I wanted to share with people.”
You’ll also find things that aren’t as common on many menus around here, including dishes such as the walleye sandwich, made with fresh walleye and slaw as well as their signature “armadillo eggs”.
No, they aren’t actual armadillo eggs! Instead, the sell-out dish is comprised of grilled jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese wrapped in a sausage and cheese breading and banked until golden and crispy. A light drizzle of blackberry cream on top adds just the right amount of sweetness.
This meal-sized appetizer even won the chef’s choice award at the Stumptown BBQ challenge in Whitefish, Montanna.
