LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — In a Facebook post Saturday morning, Chief Meteorologist Ed Buckner shared with the community that he'll be taking a leave of absence from THV11 due to complications of Tourette's Syndrome.
He said Tourette's has really taken a toll on his health over time and that the decision to step away was a hard one to make.
Ed wrote, "Hi all. I’ve got some news to share with you all. I’ve decided to take a leave of absence from THV11 due to complications of Tourette’s Syndrome. Over time, my Tourette’s has really taken a toll on my health.
"While it’s a very hard decision to be off the air, I know it’s important to take the time to heal. You all deserve a Chief Meteorologist at their very best. My team (Nathan, Sarah, Adam, and Tracy) are brilliant meteorologists and they’ve got you covered while I’m out.
"I’m looking forward to getting healthier and getting back on the air. Many thanks to all of you, as well as my THV11 family, for the many years of support. My time off will begin this Monday. See you soon!"
We all wish Ed a speedy recovery!
