Entergy Arkansas announced that it would donate over $600,000 amongst six different nonprofits around the state in honor of its 110th anniversary.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark — Entergy Arkansas announced that it would donate over $600,000 to nonprofits around the state in honor of its 110th anniversary.

The donation is part of the company's "Entergy Arkansas Bright Futures Campaign" which will partner with 6 nonprofits statewide.

Entergy said that the donations, which total $660,000, will "help build strong communities across its 63-county service territory."

Each grant will be in the amount of $110,000 and will be given to nonprofits that the company said aligns "with utility’s philanthropic focus on sustaining families, investing in workforce opportunities and a healthy environment."

According to Entergy, that philanthropic focus comes in the form of improving the quality of life for the communities that they serve in Arkansas.

The following nonprofits will each receive $110,000 donations:

  • The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance: The group will use funds to support hunger initiatives and child feeding programs.
  • The Arkansas Community Foundation: The group will use funds for book donations through the Imagination Library program.
  • The Arkansas STEM Coalition: The group will use funds to support STEM education in Arkansas.
  • The Women's Foundation of Arkansas: The group will use funds for internships for women of color who are juniors, seniors, and college-aged.
  • Habitat for Humanity: The group will use funds to provide affordable housing and combat homelessness and poverty in Arkansas.
  • The Nature Conservancy: The group will use funds to further efforts towards protecting and restoring forests in the Arkansas Delta and upper Gulf Coastal Plain.

“Entergy Arkansas has been honored to serve for more than a century in our great state, and these grants highlight important partnerships and demonstrate the priority we place on being good corporate citizens by investing in our customers and the places we all call home,” said Laura Landreaux, president and CEO of Entergy Arkansas.
