FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. — The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning to the public regarding recent scam calls claiming to be from their department.

According to Faulkner County officials, they have recently received multiple reports of a person or persons who have been impersonating and claiming to be someone from their office.

The scammers have pretended to be either Chief Deputy Wooley, Lieutenant Dixon, or Sergeant Cooley. Sometimes they have even had spoofed numbers claiming to be from the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office.

One of the numbers they have used recently is (501) 432-2599, and there is reportedly a fake voicemail on there claiming to be from the sheriff's office.

Officials with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office urge the public to not fall victim to these types of scams. They will never contact anyone via phone call in regards to arrests or warrants, nor will they request money or personal information.

They also said that they will never ask anyone for their Cash App, Venmo, gift cards, or any other type of financial information.

Anyone who is concerned with the legitimacy of a call can reach out to the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office at (501) 450-4914 or to their non-emergency number at (501) 328-5906.
