LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Recent warm temperatures have had us itching to visit a local food truck. After sorting through dozens of viewer recommendations we settled on Smashed N’ Stacked, one of the area's newest and most popular food trucks!
Some of the most creative dishes often come from food trucks. These innovative mobile kitchens often embrace the freedom afforded to them with their unique setup. No doubt, that’s the case at Smashed N’ Stacked!
At its core, Smashed N' Stacked is a burger and fries truck. One of their most popular burgers is the Ooey Gooey Stack. This fresh, hand-pattied burger is slathered with peanut butter, jalapeno jelly, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, and jalapenos. Your tastebuds will be firing on all cylinders!
The signature burger is known as The Original Smashed N’ Stacked. Bacon bits are “smashed” into the beef patty creating a bacony crust, topped with a blend of melted cheeses and their signature Smash Sauce. The Smash Sauce is worthy of grocery store shelves. Pro-tip: Order extra Smash Sauce on the side to dip your fries in. Thank me later!
While food trucks are synonymous with out-of-the-ordinary food, Smash N’ Stacked also offers a SOLID classic burger for those looking for something more familiar. Known as the Classic American Stack this burger comes topped with all the usual fixings, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mayo, mustard, and ketchup. You can’t go wrong!
There’s no question we found good food on this week’s journey. But we also found something so much more: a purpose.
The appeal of Smash N’ Stacked may be defined by delicious fusions of flavor, but its foundation is rooted in making a difference.
James Mann and Brannon Racop, co-owners of the truck, made a commitment on day 1 to make Arkansas a better place.
The two opened their truck in March of 2023, mere days before the tragic EF-3 tornado that moved through the Little Rock metro. Immediately the duo sprung into action, eventually serving 2,000 meals to victims and first responders, while also aiding in cleanup efforts themselves.
Since then they have remained true to their commitment to helping those in need. Now, a portion of each monthly special goes directly to a local non-profit that works to feed the hungry and shelter the unsheltered.
Despite its ability to be mobile, the truck spends most of its time slinging juicy burgers and fries in Pettaway Square. You can find the truck at 408 E. 21st Street in Little Rock.
