LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Attorney General Tim Griffin announced that an investigation by his office’s Public Integrity Unit led to the arrest of a former employee of the city of Alexander in Memphis, Tennessee.
According to reports, 36-year-old Melissa Ann Anthony-Ratliff was charged with theft of property after officials discovered that she claimed to have worked more hours than she actually did in 2021 and 2022.
Those false claims led to her being paid more than twice her annual salary. She is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
“I commend the agents in my office’s Public Integrity Unit who worked diligently to investigate this case. Corruption in any form is reprehensible, but violating the trust that Arkansans have in public servants is particularly egregious," said AG Griffin.
