CARROLL COUNTY, Arkansas — On October 18, a former deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office pleaded guilty to felony charges of theft of property, second-degree forgery, and tampering with public records.

In August 2022, officials conducted a theft investigation involving 54-year-old Deputy Blake Ringberg.

The investigation revealed that he collected $11,622 in overtime from Carroll County’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) without proper documentation.

In March of 2022, as Arkansas State Police investigated, Ringberg resigned from his position and is no longer employed as a law enforcement officer in Arkansas.

He was sentenced to four years of unsupervised probation and ordered to pay $13,062.36 in fines and restitution.
