LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — According to reports from AAA, the statewide gas price average in Arkansas has declined. This comes just ahead of the Labor Day holiday weekend, which is expected to be a busy time for travel.
“The statewide gas price average is 41 cents less per gallon compared to Labor Day last year,” said AAA spokesperson Nick Chabarria. “That’s good news for drivers planning road trips this weekend, though pump price declines may soon be over.”
The current average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $3.00, which is six cents less compared to this time last week and 41 cents less per gallon compared to this time last year.
Drivers in Texarkana are reportedly paying the most on average at $3.05 while drivers in Jonesboro are paying the least at $2.87 per gallon.
The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.36, and Arkansas drivers are paying the 7th lowest gas price average in the country.
