LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - For the first time in Arkansas history, the state has a female majority in the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Two new state supreme court justices were sworn in to Arkansas' highest court on Tuesday.
Court of Appeals judges Rhonda Wood and Robin Wynne were recently elected to 8-year terms.
Justice Wood told THV11 that it's an honor to be a part of that history.
"It's really incredible for me, it's just about that this example was set for all the young girls out there to see that this is a possibility all four of us had no example to follow," said Wood.
One of the big issues this new court will address is challenges to Arkansas ban on same-sex marriage.
