LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas women's basketball team improved to 10-3 following a buzzer-beater to take down Illinois in a thriller, 60-59.
With this win, the Hogs have now won their first of two games at the West Palm Beach Classic.
The win was brought about by a wide-open layup from Maryam Dauda, who was found right under the basket by Samara Spencer with less than a second left on the clock.
The game was hard fought right from the opening tip of the ball, with both teams trading shots and the lead throughout the game.
Arkansas was able to play tenacious defense, holding Illinois scoreless from the 3-point line.
Now following the win, the Hogs are set to take on UIC Thursday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. as they finish up their time in the West Palm Beach Classic.
