Hot Springs residents asked to conserve water after critically low levels

The recent freezing temperatures have caused water levels in Hot Springs to be critically low. Residents are asked to try and keep water usage to a minimum.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Due to very low water levels, the City of Hot Springs has asked residents to try and keep their usage to a minimum in order to help conserve water.

Crews have been working around the clock and were able to determine that the extremely low temperatures caused various water line breaks— and they continue to locate the water leaks from burst pipes and to also turn off any associated meters.

Hot Springs City Manager, Bill Burrough, explained that water is critical for firefighting needs and that conserving water will allow everyone to continue to have water.

"Please do everything you can to save water during this time – skip a shower, skip a bath, leave a drip running overnight, rather than a stream – conserve as much as you can,”  he added.

If you need to report a water leak, please call the 24/7 Utilities Emergency Hotline at (501) 321-6200.
