HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- Magic Springs Water and Theme Park winds down its 2014 season with special events and a tribute to military, police, and firefighters with free admission during the month of August as part of Hero Appreciation Month. The offer is valid for active and inactive military and official identification is required to receive free admission.
"We can't do enough to honor these American heroes and this is our way to make coming to the park more affordable for them and their families," said Steve Honeycutt, general manager.
Fire truck to be at park, Saturday, August 9
A Hot Springs Fire Department fire truck will be at the park this Saturday, August 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The truck will be located in the kiddie park area and kids will able to have their photo made with a firefighter.
Character Day and Dive-In Movies –August 16
The park's "character series" features popular children's characters and scheduled to appear Saturday, August 16 is the popular character Peppa Pig. Also on Saturday, the big screen comes to the water with "Dive-In Movies" featuring "The Smurfs 2" at Crystal Cave Wave Pool. Movies begin at dusk preceded by a dance party with games and family activities.
Park extends season through September 28 with $15 admission to water park
Magic Springs Water and Theme Park will extend its season beyond its normal closing date. The last days of the regular season will be Monday, September 1 and Saturday and Sunday, September 6 and 7.
The water park will reopen each day starting Sunday, September 14 through Sunday, September 28, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission to the park will be reduced to $15 per person for the extended two weeks.
