BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. — Update: Autopsy reports show that Millsap's death involved foul play and a homicide investigation is now underway.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office is investigating after locating a body floating in Moccasin Creek near the Baxter and Izard County line.
According to reports, on August 15, officials were notified about the body by a motorist who spotted it while driving on State Highway 5 South.
Deputies arrived on scene and observed the nude decomposing body of an adult male floating in the creek. His identity was later confirmed to be 50-year-old Rickey Joe Millsap of Mountain Home.
At this time, the circumstances of his death are unknown and remain under investigation.
