Investigation underway after hit-and-run leaves one dead in Pine Bluff

The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run as a homicide after a deceased woman was found on the east side of Hazel Street on June 15.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating after one woman was found dead on the east side of Hazel Street on June 15 in an apparent hit-and-run.

According to reports, officers responded to the area of 33rd and Hazel in reference to a dead body. They discovered skid tire marks and a deceased female who had apparently been struck by an unknown vehicle sometime during the night.

On June 18, police identified the victim as 50-year-old Zedella Samuels.

There is no suspect information at this time, and officials are investigating this fatal hit-and-run as a homicide.
