JEFFERSON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating after finding what are suspected to be human remains along a highway early on Saturday morning.
According to reports, at about 8:30 a.m., a deputy was sent to the 1900 block of Highway 425 after they received reports of possible human remains that were found in the area.
After the deputy arrived at the scene, they contacted the JCSO Criminal Investigation Division investigator. Now, several investigators have been searching the area and working to identify what may have happened.
They were unable to make a positive identification while at the scene, so the remains have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to be identified.
