Investigation underway after shooting at apartment complex in Pine Bluff

Police confirmed that one person is dead after a shooting took place overnight at Camelot Apartments in Pine Bluff.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — One person is dead after a shooting took place overnight at an apartment complex in Pine Bluff.

According to reports, officers with the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to a reported shooting at the Camelot Apartments at 4001 Old Warren Rd around 1 a.m. on August 27.

Officers found the door damaged and open when they arrived. Once inside the apartment, they located 25-year-old D’Arrion Johnson in the bedroom. 

He was unresponsive from apparent gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses stated a 'person or persons' forced entry into the apartment and shot Johnson. Two people wearing masks were seen in the area around the time of the shooting. 

The motive for this homicide is unknown and an investigation is currently underway. There is no suspect information at this time.
