Jacksonville North Pulaski heightens security at Friday night football game

After seeing several threats at campuses across Arkansas, some schools like Jacksonville North Pulaski have added security to football games.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark — After multiple threats recently that have been targeting schools around Arkansas, at least one school is taking extra precautions to keep students and players safe.

While Jacksonville North Pulaski hasn't had any specific threats, they want to be cautious.

"We've had concerns as far as the number of crowds we are getting at the game and we just want everybody to be safe," said Tony Garza, Security Coordinator for Jacksonville North Pulaski.

At the game on Friday night against the Dewitt Dragons, people walked through metal detectors at the entrance of the stadium.

There was also additional security at the game. Some from the school and others from the city police department.

Garza said there were about 10 officers stationed in certain areas around the school and stadium to make sure everyone had a good time while still staying safe.

Cameras were also utilized in case there was an incident that needed to be reviewed.

"We can zoom in on incidents that are occurring. A lot of them have audio to them and we can hear what's being said," said Garza.

Jacksonville North Pulaski fell to Dewitt in Friday night's game, 35-7.
