Jonesboro woman claims $1 million lottery prize in Little Rock

A Jonesboro woman claimed her $1 million lottery prize this week after purchasing a $20 ticket from a Kum & Go in the city.

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro woman has claimed her $1 million lottery prize from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center.

The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, won after paying $20 to play the $1-million  cash instant game.

The winning ticket was sold at a Kum & Go on Southwest Drive in Jonesboro.

The winner said that she plays lottery games "all the time" and shared that she purchased the winning ticket on her day off from work.

She said that she went in to Kum & Go to use the restroom and bought the ticket on a whim.

She admitted that she couldn't believe her eyes as she began scratching while still in the store, revealing all the numbers.

“When I hit that—y’all don’t even want to know my first thought,” the woman laughed.

Following her win, the woman said that she plans to pay off her truck, land, and some other expenses that she has.

She said that she plans to continue playing the lottery and insisted that she has no plans to retire any time soon.

“I’m not old enough to retire,” she said.
