Kevin Kelley heading to Sheridan as new head football coach

The Sheridan School District announced on Monday evening that there will be a new head coach for the Yellowjacket football program.

SHERIDAN, Arkansas — The Sheridan School District announced on Monday evening that Kevin Kelley will be the new coach of the Yellowjacket football program.

The decision was made after receiving approval by the school district's board of education at their monthly meeting on December 11.

Coach Kelley is best known for the time he spent at Pulaski Academy which spanned from 2003 to 2020. During that time he led the school to nine state titles, including six of the seven years from 2014 until 2020.

The Superintendent of Sheridan School District, Dr. Karla Neathery, explained that they are excited about hiring someone with such a record of success.

“Coach Kelley’s unique approach and vast knowledge of the game have led to many great achievements. This is certainly a home-run hire, and we look forward to a bright future for the Yellowjacket football program under Coach Kelley’s leadership," she added.
