WASHINGTON — As we continue to move closer and closer to seeing the D.C. cherry blossoms in peak bloom, those who are tired of waiting can LEGO and take a peek at a beautiful scene of blossoms at LEGO Discovery Center Washington D.C.
The center opened in 2023 and features a mini world made up of 1.5 million LEGO bricks. The Mini World combines D.C. landmarks, like the Capitol Building and Nats Park, with imaginary buildings.
The Center’s Master Model Builder, Andrew Litterst, spent more than 32 hours and used approximately 9,800 LEGO bricks to build hundreds of LEGO cherry blossoms as a way to say welcome spring! The cherry blossom builds were then "planted" in the mini world.
Additionally, mini-figures can be seen strolling down the reflecting pool next to the Washington Monument and soaking up the sun taking in the sites.
