Little Rock Air Force Base to conduct flyover before Cowboys-Commanders NFL game

The Little Rock Air Force Base will perform the pregame flyover before Sunday's NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Dallas Cowboys battle the Washington Commanders Sunday at FedExField in Landover, Md.

While the Cowboys can clinch the NFC East with a victory, Arkansas will have some representation before the 3:25 p.m. kickoff.

Two C-130Js from the Little Rock Air Force Base will perform the pregame flyover.

"We are honored to showcase the United States Air Force Air Mobility Command's pride and joy with two planes from the largest C-130 fleet in the world," 19th Airlift Wing and Installation Commander Col. Denny Davies said. "There is no better place to salute the stars and stripes than our nation's capital, and this flyover represents our commitment to the defense of freedom."

According to LRAFB, U.S. Air Force Maj. David Hoffman and U.S. Air Force Capt. John Wood from the 41st Airlift Squadron will pilot the two planes.

The LRAFB said the 19th Airlift Wing (Air Mobility Command) is the host wing at the base, which "provides the Department of Defense with mission-ready airmen" and supports the largest C-130 fleet in the world.

"Flyovers like this serve as training for our flight crews, but more importantly, it's our way of saying 'thank you' to the fans for their support as we serve our nation," Davies said.

Additionally, the 19th Airlift Wing's responsibilities range from supplying humanitarian airlift relief to victims of disasters to airdropping supplies and troops, as well as supporting base partners as the host unit.
