LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Clinton National Airport in Little Rock will transition to a cashless parking system starting Sept. 9.

According to airport officials, 96% of customers already pay for parking using a credit card, and the change will "allow additional employees to assist passengers as needed in the parking lots and terminal."

The Clinton National Airport will discontinue staffing its main parking payment booths with the cashless system. However, an employee will be available to assist customers who only have cash for the next several months.

To help with the transition, the airport said it would have a kiosk in the ticket lobby that will offer cash-to-credit card conversions.

Payments will be processed at self-service kiosks that accept credit cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Clinton National Airport officials said airlines and most airport vendors have already "phased out cash transitions." The Little Rock airport's move to cashless parking plays into that trend as it stopped staffing its economy and west short-term parking booths in 2020.
