Bruce Moore served the City of Little Rock for over 35 years and was chief advisor to the Little Rock Board of Directors on policy and operations.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock officials said longtime city manager Bruce Moore died "peacefully overnight in his home." He was 57.

Moore was the longest-serving city manager in Little Rock history and was known for his "servant leadership."

For over 35 years, Moore worked to improve the lives of over 2,500 municipal employees, residents, and visitors through effective management, organization, and expertise.

He first served the city as an intern before becoming assistant to the mayor and then was named assistant to the city manager in 1999.

Moore was named city manager in 2002, where he was chief advisor to the Little Rock Board of Directors on policy and operations, including the lead for the Clinton Presidential Center project.

According to the City of Little Rock, he also played an essential role in producing and organizing the annual Little Rock Nine commemorations.

Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in Little Rock until further notice in memory of Moore.
