LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock, the capital city of Arkansas, has been listed as one of Southern Living's best cities in the South for the first time coming in at the 25th spot.
The magazine, which has been releasing an annual list of the best cities in the South since 2017, put Little Rock on the list, saying the city allows for "the best of the both worlds" when it comes to the outdoors and city living.
Southern Living determines the best cities through an online survey, which was conducted in the summer of 2023.
Among the locations highlighted by the magazine includes the Big Dam Bridge, the Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden along the river walk, and more!
“Appearing in this list is a major win for our city,” said Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) President & CEO Gina Gemberling. “The amenities we offer travelers closely align with the subscriber base for Southern Living, and inclusion on this prestigious list will help us attract more leisure travelers.”
Gemberling added that being on the list also serves as "validation for those who are looking for new and exciting travel opportunities.”
Bentonville also made the list as the 21st best city. The magazine listed the town's growing array of museums and art spaces as well as the mountain biking scene.
