LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Wednesday, Little Rock officials celebrated the ribbon-cutting for three newly constructed affordable homes off Charles Bussey Avenue.
Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. said the city's mission has been to bring more affordable homes to the area, and they've surpassed their expectations.
"Two years ago, we set out to increase affordable housing here in the state's capital city," Scott said. "We had 100 Home Initiative. As Director Howard has just shared the announcement... we've surpassed it. Quite frankly, we're at 154 homes. The City of Little Rock has worked to develop."
Scott said that most of the effort has been in Wards 1, 2, 6 and 7 to rejuvenate the area south of Interstate 630 and east of Interstate 30.
