LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - One man was killed and another man was injured in a shooting outside a Little Rock business on Friday afternoon.
At 5:47 p.m., Little Rock police responded to reports of a shooting in the 6300 block of Colonel Glenn Road. When officers arrived on-scene, they found the body of a man behind Armadillo’s Hand, a retailer located near the intersection of Colonel Glen and South University.
Police said a second shooting victim drove himself to UAMS, where he was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The man’s vehicle was being treated as part of the crime scene,” according to LRPD spokesperson Lt. Michael Ford.
Police were unable to release either victim’s identity Friday night.
The person(s) responsible were also not identified and police asked for the public’s help in tracking them down.
“Of course, you can see it’s broad daylight, so there should be a lot of people that know something or saw something, so whatever information the public can give would greatly help us,” Lt. Ford said.
This shooting marked the third homicide in Little Rock within one week.
“It’s not normal,” Ford said. “But as we say, the weather gets better the crime intensifies. We will be out here with some extra patrol in this area and other areas just to make sure our numbers are down.”
This is the city's 18th homicide for the year. This is a developing story. Stay with THV11 and THv11.com for the latest information.
