Little Rock announces SoMa Main Street Mile

The SoMa Main Street Mile will take place at the SoMa After Dark event on June 7 in Little Rock.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — SoMa has announced a one-mile race at the SoMa After Dark event on June 7 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Little Rock.

The SoMa Main Street Mile will feature a block party from 12th to 13th Streets on Main Street with live reggae music by Butterfly & Irie Soul from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and street vendors.

"We are thrilled to bring the SoMa Main Street Mile to life," said Elizabeth Michael, executive director of SoMa 501. "This event highlights our community's spirit and encourages everyone to embrace a healthier lifestyle while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of SoMa After Dark."

Runners can choose to participate in three categories:

  • Kid's Mini Mile
    • Ages: 12 and below (Children below 8 must run with an adult)
    • 7:30 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.
    • Registration is $30.00 race fee + $2.80 sign up fee
  • Open Mile
    •  Open to all with times above 6:00 min/mile for males and 6:30 min/mile for females
    • 7:55 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.
    • Registration is $35.00 race fee + $3.10 sign up fee
  • Elite Mile
    • For males with times under 6:00 min/mile and females with times under 6:30 min/mile
    • 8:20 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
    • Registration is $35.00 race fee + $3.10 sign up fee

"Running is more than just a sport; it's a way to build community and foster connections. The SoMa Main Street Mile is a perfect opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to come together and celebrate health and wellness," said Logan Dockery of Blue Rose Physical Therapy and Running.
