LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – On Saturday, a funeral service was held at First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock for Beverly Carter, a central Arkansas real estate agent who disappeared during a showing last week.
The search for missing real estate agent Beverly Carter began September 25. The next five days would be grueling for her family and friends.
"We've all got heavy hearts right now," one of her co-workers explained.
The case broke when Arron Lewis was apprehended as a suspect in Carter's disappearance.
After more than 12 hours of interrogation, authorities found Carter's body in a shallow grave on the property of Argos Concrete Company about 20 miles from where Carter reportedly disappeared.
"We wanted to do everything that we could to find her while she was still alive. We weren't able to do that," Sheriff Doc Holladay with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office told the press in a conference held shortly after.
Now as the Carter family tries to cope with the loss of their loved one, they gather at the First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock to remember and honor her life. Lewis is being charged with kidnapping, robbery and four charges of possession of firearms while the woman he allegedly killed is being laid to rest.
