LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A student at Central High School was arrested on Monday after student resource officers discovered a firearm in his possession on school grounds.
According to a police report from the LRPD, the officers were notified by a teacher of the possibility of the other student, 16, having a gun.
The teacher told police that another student came to him when the classmate with a gun fell asleep in class.
A quick search confirmed that the student had a gun tucked in his front waistband.
After police ran the firearm through their system, it was determined that the gun was stolen out of Lonoke County. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds and theft by receiving.
The student was then transported to juvenile detention.
