LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (KTHV) – Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport announced a new nonstop flight from Little Rock to Austin, Texas.
The new flights are effective April 29. Florida-based Via Airlines will provide service on a 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145. The airline currently serves 17 destinations.
“We’re excited that Via Airlines will provide nonstop service to Austin, which will be a new destination for Little Rock,” said Chairwoman Stacy Hurst, Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission. “Via Airlines’s low fares and convenient schedule will make it easy to getaway to the live music capital.”
Flights to Austin will be offered daily, except Saturday. Introductory fares are currently available.
“Austin is an amazing, fast-growing city. We are thrilled to bring the convenience of direct flights to the markets of Little Rock, Oklahoma City and Tulsa as part of our expansion as we hope to be known as Austin’s hometown airline,” said Matthew Macri, Via Airlines’ Vice President of Operations. “Via Airlines takes pride in being the airline of the hospitality industry. When flying with us you are our Guest, not just a passenger,” added Macri.
“The Airport Commission is continually pursuing new airline service and fostering competition for lower fares,” said Chairwoman Hurst. “We’re delighted to have such a strong and diverse offering of airline choices for our passengers.”
Via Airlines will be the fourth low-cost carrier available at Clinton National. Southwest Airlines and Allegiant Air currently operate at the airport while Frontier Airlines will resume business next month. Legacy carriers at Clinton National include American/Envoy, Delta, and United.
The nonstop to Austin marks the third new city planned for Little Rock so far in 2018. Frontier will offer nonstop service to Denver, beginning March 1. American/Envoy will start service to Washington, DC (DCA) on April 3.
