Two fires reported in Little Rock, officials say

Firefighters responded to two separate fires in Little Rock on Tuesday, with one fire happening at a house and another at an apartment complex.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock firefighters were called to two separate fires Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the corner of 17th and Dennison Street to put out a fire that started in the center part and moved to the attic.

That fire, which started roughly before 11:40 a.m., engulfed most of the attic before firefighters on scene began hosing the house down with water.

The house is reportedly split into two apartments with one under construction, according to Little Rock Fire Department Captain Jason Weaver.

Weaver said no one was at the house when firefighters arrived.

He said it will most likely be a total loss.

No cause or injuries have been reported at this time.

A separate fire was also reported at the Westside Creek Apartments on Sam Peck Road around 6:30 a.m.

When firefighters broke into the apartment they put out a fire on the couch.

An unconscious woman was found in the bedroom. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

No cause has been determined at that fire at this time either.

We will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
