LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Wednesday, there was a very special visitor who made her way to the Natural State.
Sherry Ott left the Texas State Capitol building in Austin, Texas just 10 days ago and pedaled her way across more than 500 miles from the Lone Star State to the Arkansas State Capitol here in Little Rock.
She is on a journey to bike to all 48 capitol buildings in their respective capital cities within mainland USA.
This has been a journey long in the making as she's picking up where her father left off on his own journey. He previously made the goal of traveling to all the capitals on foot more than four decades ago.
Her father made it to 23 capitals by the time he was 72 years old. Now, at the age of 87, he's done traveling. His journey first started in Illinois, where Ott is from.
Now, she's continuing to check capitals off her list. Little Rock is her sixth capital route to complete thus far and she will continue her journey.
"So I have 20 left. And this one took me from Austin. So I biked from the capital of Austin to Little Rock. Now this one is fully complete because my father already walked out of Little Rock to Jackson, Mississippi. So this one's done. I'm so excited," Ott explained.
She has been tracking her journey on social media. If you'd like to follow along with her cycle across the country, you can click here.
