Man faces multiple felony charges after being arrested by Arkansas State Police

During a traffic stop on Sunday, Arkansas State Police arrested a man in possession of over 100 pounds of illegal marijuana, a handgun, and ammunition.

LONOKE, Arkansas — A man was arrested by Arkansas State Police after he was found with several pounds of illegal drugs during a traffic stop on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, police stopped a sprinter van driving down Interstate 40 eastbound in Lonoke County just before 12:30 p.m.

During the traffic stop, they found two wooden crates that had 120 one-pound vacuum-sealed bags of illegal marijuana. Troopers also found ammunition, multiple magazines, and a handgun inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as 55-year-old Brian High of Townsend, Delaware was then arrested and taken to the Lonoke County Detention Center. 

He is being held on felony charges which include possession of drugs and firearms, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
