Power restored in Maumelle after vehicle hits light pole

On Tuesday, the City of Maumelle announced that a widespread power outage impacted the city after a vehicle hit a light pole in the county.

MAUMELLE, Ark. — Update: The power has been restored.

The City of Maumelle announced on Tuesday that a widespread power outage is impacting the city after a vehicle hit a light pole in the county. 

Currently, over 3,400 people are being impacted by the outage.  

The city said in an online post that Entergy is currently working to restore power for those impacted by the outage. 

As heat remains a big factor on the health of local families, Maumelle city officials said that those who need relief from the heat are able to go to the Maumelle Community Center. 

For the residents that choose to go to the community center, the city noted that pets are also welcome to join them but that the animals must remain on a leash. The owners are also required to clean up after their pets. 

The Maumelle Community Center will be open until 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
