LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - One in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime, but the Union Rescue Mission is working to change that.
Saturday, the group held a fundraiser at Millennium Bowling Center in Maumelle. Michelle Dewitt said the money raised at the event will help the people they care for every day at Dorcas House.
"We currently have 57 women and children in our program, and we've had 360 come through the last year, so the money we raised is going to straight into that so we can keep serving them for free," she said.
Dorcas House is in its 51st year of serving central Arkansas women and children affected by domestic violence.
