Multiple lucky Arkansas lottery players win big after holidays

Several lucky Arkansas lottery players claimed some big prizes on January 3— including $200,000, $125,000, and $100,000.

ARKANSAS, USA — Multiple lottery players claimed some big prizes at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on January 3.

Kimala Wallace of Alexander won a $200,000 prize on the $10 $200,000 Bankroll instant game. She purchased the winning ticket from the Circle K Store at 13625 Vimy Ridge in Bryant on January 2.

“I thought she was joking because we always play like that,” her husband Johnny Wallace Jr. said in reaction.

According to Wallace, this marked the biggest prize from a three-day winning streak— beginning on December 31, the Arkansan won $30 and $100 on other instant games.

“God did it again,” she said.

Wallace considered the win a “blessing” following a difficult December and plans to use the money to pay off some bills and purchase another lottery ticket.

Another lucky duo claimed the $125,000 Natural State Jackpot for the January 2 drawing after purchasing a ticket from Citgo at 703 Main St. in Pangburn.

Long-time friends Janet Russenberger and Joe Castor of Pangburn have a special lottery-playing partnership.

Castor purchased tickets for three lottery games— Natural State Jackpot, Mega Millions®, and Powerball®— and then gave them to Russenberger.

“She gets three days of fun,” Castor chuckled.

Though they've won some smaller prizes in the past, this was the duo's first big win. They plan to split their prize and “put it to good use”. They also intend to keep playing lottery games together.

Meanwhile, a Heber Springs resident won a $100,000 Powerball prize on Christmas Day after purchasing the winning ticket at his favorite retailer, Heber Springs Discount Tobacco, at 2210 Highway 25B.

M. Humphries used the same numbers for multiple draws, which were a mix of his and his wife’s birthdays plus his lucky number.

With his winnings, Humphries intends to pay off some expenses.
