PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. — During the 2024-2025 school year, there will now be almost twenty schools in the Pulaski County Special School District that will be offering free meals to students.
These schools will be participating in Provision 2 which means that the schools are required to serve meals to participating children at no cost, but it also reduces application burdens to once every four years.
This provision simplifies meal counting and claiming procedures by allowing schools to receive meal reimbursement based on their claiming percentages.
The participating schools are listed below:
- Cato Elementary
- College Station Elementary
- Crystal Hill Elementary
- Daisy Bates Elementary
- Harris Elementary
- Joe T. Robinson Elementary
- Landmark Elementary
- Lawson Elementary
- Oak Grove Elementary
- Oakbrooke Elementary
- Pine Forest Elementary
- Sherwood Elementary
- Sylvan Hills Elementary
- William Jefferson Clinton Elementary
- Maumelle Middle
- Mills Middle
- Sylvan Hills Middle
- Sylvan Hills Junior High
- Mills University Studies High
During its first year, PCSSD needs to collect free and reduced lunch applications for all nineteen of the participating schools. For the remaining years of Provision 2, households will not be required to fill out the free and reduced lunch application or to pay for meals.
Applications can be found online and at each PCSSD campus. They should be turned in between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.
