New owners take over historic War Eagle Mill

The historic Arkansas landmark is under new management as of Feb. 16.

ROGERS, Ark. — The War Eagle Mill in Rogers has been sold for a little more than half a million dollars.

The historic landmark has sat in Northwest Arkansas for 150 years attracting visitors from all over, and just recently added more wedding and event features during a full-scale restoration of the mill's third floor last year.

The mill is also famously the center of the yearly War Eagle Craft Fair.

Cantrell-Griffin Business Brokers arranged the sale. The company's website describes the mill as "an iconic tourist destination in an extremely popular region for tourists," complete with a working water-powered grist mill on War Eagle Creek in the Ozark highlands.

According to the Cantrell-Griffin website, the tourist hotspot sold for $550,000.

The mill officially changed hands on Feb. 16, ending Elise and Marty Roenigk era of ownership, according to a new release from Cantrell-Griffin.

"For decades, the Roenigks have been synonymous with the preservation and prosperity of War Eagle Mill. Marty Roenigk's dedication to the preservation of the site, including the iconic historic bridge, and his efforts to expand the distribution of War Eagle Products, have been instrumental in shaping the mill's identity. Elise Roenigk, over the past decade, has continued this legacy, nurturing the mill's growth and welcoming millions of visitors who have come to appreciate its majestic location," Cantrell-Griffin said.

"I am thankful for those who have assisted in carrying forth our vision for the Mill," Elise Roenigk said. "And for the millions of visitors who have come to the valley, not only for the fair but year-round to enjoy the majestic location."

Mark and Cristin Hall are the new owners, and plan to start a new chapter with the mill.

The release from Cantrell-Griffin says that Mark "looks forward to preserving its heritage while also bringing new ideas and energy to the property."

"Mr. Hall's plans and vision for the future of War Eagle Mill include cabins for nightly rentals, producing fresh apple cider and donuts in the fall, renovating the grounds for a family friendly experience, expanding the menu, adding beer and wine offerings and a coffee bar/lounge and event center for weddings on the 3rd floor," the release said.

The mill's website say that it is "temporarily closed" and will reopen mid-March.
