I-30 Arkansas River Bridge to open in phases during October & November

As construction finishes on the new I-30 westbound Arkansas River Bridge, officials plan to open it to traffic in three phases during October and November.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Update: As of Sunday afternoon, phase 2 of the project has been completed.

As construction finishes up on the new I-30 westbound Arkansas River Bridge, officials announced that it will open to traffic in three phases during October and November.

Phase one will start in early October, followed by phase two in mid-October. The third phase is scheduled for early November to allow crews to transition traffic onto the new river bridge.

Each traffic shift will include lane closures, detours, and new traffic patterns from 10 p.m. on Friday through 5 a.m. Monday morning.

Additionally, there will be weekend detours as crews transition between each phase. The Arkansas Department of Transportation will provide additional information closer to the start of each phase.

After the phased openings, ARDOT stated that traffic would be "in its final configuration for both I-30 eastbound and westbound," allowing drivers to use all lanes.
