NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The home of one North Little Rock family has always been what people have considered the "holiday house."
This year, their home is once again decorated with skeletons and Halloween items — grabbing the attention of all who drive by. While most attention has been good, they've also faced some bad.
"We had two signs that disappeared, one at one time a day, and then later that day, the second one disappeared," said Jason Mullins. "Last weekend, we also had the third sign disappear, and later the week, we had some vandals that came, and because we had flags hanging off of the deck, they tried to take an extension cord from our Halloween display and rope the signs down."
Mullins said in the process of the alleged vandal stepping onto their property, they damaged a bird feeder and extension cord while trying to get the flags down.
After this incident occurred, he ultimately decided to take the signs down and off of his property out of safety for his family.
While he did not catch the person in the act, he said he was able to grab a screenshot of it on his security camera. In the video, you can see a figure coming out of the car.
He then went to a local Facebook group in search of answers.
"Some of the responses were positive, but at the same time, there were those that were negative. There were those that were personal attacks," Mullins described.
However, Mullins isn't the only one who has become a target of these alleged crimes.
The Drew and Austin family both live on the same street and share very similar stories.
"Well, it started out a couple of months ago with pride flags in our yard and in our neighbor's yard down the street. Then they drove away, and then a couple of days later, they came and got the pride flag off of our front yard, knocked over some of our plants and stuff like that," explained Will Drew.
Leigh Austin shared that while the same thing happened to her, she happened to be going into her front yard when she saw the alleged vandal in action as they stole a flag out of her front yard.
"I was right down the hill. I was taking out the trash, and I came up and there was a gentleman getting into a car," Austin described. "I thought he had stolen my purse or something because my car door was wide open, and instead he had stolen my pride flag."
Each family said that these issues have occurred for quite some time — leaving them shaken up and anxious.
While both the Drew and Austin families say they have filed police reports, there is one overall message that these families want to share in hopes of stopping these incidents from happening again.
"It's unfortunate. We know that everybody's not going to agree with us, and that's not the point of living in America," said Drew. "Everybody can be different but when you use that type of fear, coming on someone's property is a different type of message."
