City of North Little Rock to break ground on new fire station

The City of North Little Rock is set to break ground on a new fire station that will serve the eastern part of the city on Wednesday, November 29.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The City of North Little Rock is set to break ground on a new fire station at 1000 Blaze Drive on Wednesday, November 29 at 1 p.m.

The new 7,600-square-foot two-bay facility will be located off Arkansas Highway 165 and serve residents and businesses in the east part of the city.

The location was selected since it provides access to Highways 165 and 391 and U.S. Interstate 440, which will allow the North Little Rock Fire Department to respond quickly across all parts of Ward 2.

The new station will include five bedrooms, a watch office, ready room, kitchen, dining area, two pull-through apparatus bays, decontamination corridor, safe room, and gym.

One engine and three firefighters will occupy the new station, with plans to add an aerial truck in the future.

The project is estimated to cost $4.6 million and is anticipated to be completed in 2024.
