City of North Little Rock opens top loop in Burns Park

North Little Rock officials say the top loop around Funland Drive in Burns Park is now open. This area includes a dog park, disc golf, pavilions and more.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Thursday, the City of North Little Rock announced the opening of the top loop around Funland Drive in Burns Park.

This includes a handful of amenities on Funland Drive and Joe K. Poch Drive in Burns Park:

  • Dog park (including restroom near the dog park)
  • Disc golf: 18 holes between the dog park and Funland Drive
  • Equestrian trail: Parking will be available at the softball complex. Riders will need to trailer at this location and proceed from there. Water will be available across the interstate.
  • One Heart Park
  • Rocket slide
  • Pavilions
  • DeJanis boys high school baseball field
  • Girls high school softball complex
  • Softball complex
  • Baseball complex

The city said roadwork is still happening, and the next phase of Burns Park to open will be Tournament Drive to the soccer complex, which includes Catfish and Goalie roads.

Additionally, North Little Rock expects the River Trail restroom on Tournament Drive to open in the next few days.

Visitors are asked to stay out of areas closed for their safety as the city works toward reopening these areas:

  • Road work will be ongoing on Arlene Laman Drive, which includes the Covered Bridge, walking trails, archery range, BMX track, and Boy Scout area. This work will continue through the winter months
  • Funland will remain closed to the public while plans are made for the future
