NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - An Arkansas man is behind bars 10 days after the murder of a North Little Rock pregnant woman.

36-year-old Quenton King now faces two counts of capital murder: One for the death of Megan Price and one for the death of her unborn child.

"This morning we arrested Quenton King for his involvement in this homicide, we received numerous tips through our 24-hour hotline through numerous sources," said Sgt. Brian Dedrick, Public Information Officer for North Little Rock Police Department.

Sgt. Dedrick said it's standard procedure to investigate family members. But it wasn't until police learned more about the relationship between King and Price that the pieces started to come together. The two had been in an on-and-off relationship for about 12 years.

"They definitely had a tumultuous relationship," Dedrick said.

THV 11 found several court documents showing various charges for King including battery, terroristic threating and three class Y felonies. According to LRPD documents, King was suspected of trying to set fire to Price's home and place of business. Back in 2011, King was charged with attempted capital murder of Price and her daughters. But when she changed her statement, those charges were dropped.

"In the cycle of violence that happens often," said Ken Wade, Executive Director of the Arkansas Coalition against Domestic Violence. "Individuals eventually end up losing their lives because of domestic violence will go through those cycles more than once."

"If someone obtains an order of protection or a restraining order, that person has to stay away from another person," Dedrick said.

Sgt. Dedrick told THV11 there wasn't an order of protection against King at the time of Price's murder.

Wade said in many on and off relationships, changing emotions interfere with victims getting legal help.

"In many cases the order of protection would be dropped," Wade said.

Price's mother, Laverne Price, told THV11 that her daughter "was just a battered woman that was afraid to do what she needed to do to survive. It happens every day. And she just happened to lose her life."
