NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Crews are making progress on construction of the Argenta Plaza in Downtown North Little Rock. Those behind the project hope it will spur further growth in an area that’s already on the rise.
“This is just going to enhance the experience down here,” Chris Kent, executive director of the Argenta Downtown Council, said.
The water feature at the center of the plaza is about 90% complete, according to Kent. The space, which sits adjacent to the North Little Rock Heritage Center, will also include a “front porch” along the street and a fully equipped performance area.
“It's been in the works for a number of years and it's taken awhile to get the funding together and get the players on-board, but it’s here and we're ready for it,” Kent said.
“I think we could get more business because more people will be coming to Argenta to the new plaza,” Stracner said.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 and will also house the global headquarters for software company First Orion.
