NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating after one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Crystal Hill Road in North Little Rock.

According to reports, officials responded to the accident in the 10000 block of the road just after 5:00 p.m. on August 25.

Once officers arrived at the scene they found the two vehicles that had been involved in the accident.

The driver of one of the vehicles, identified as 63-year-old James Burgess of Conway was pronounced dead while still at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as 31-year-old Hayley Strozyk of North Little Rock, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

As part of an investigation into the accident, NLR detectives determined that Strozyk was at fault for the accident because she allegedly did not negotiate a turn which caused her vehicle to leave the road and hit the parked car that Burgess was in.

Investigators will continue to review all evidence, statements, and facts to determine if criminal charges will be pursued.
